Recently, an AI tool named ChatGPT has rocked the tech world. Well, not just this tool but also the breakthrough of AI and the recent increase in the use and receptiveness of advanced Artificial Intelligence. It has come to stay this time.

This feat is not surprising as statistics already predicted that in 2023, Artificial Intelligence’s market size would be $165 billion (https://www.demandsage.com/artificial-intelligence-statistics)

What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT, an acronym for “Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer,” is an invention of OpenAI designed to understand and respond to natural language input in a way that mimics human conversation. It has been in the pipeline since 2018 but has recently become well-recognized and adapted.

In simple terms, ChatGPT is a computer program that is like an interactive robot. Have you ever visited a site with a chatbot? ChatGPT is like that, only better. It is more interactive, and unlike chatbots, which usually have information about just the website or specific products and services, ChatGPT’s database is broader.

ChatGPT has been around since 2018

This database is heavily reliant on a specific dataset sourced from the internet. Although this database is not limited to providing information that already exists on the internet, while using ChatGPT, there may be information restraints regarding information accuracy, validity, and relevance.

Another disadvantage of ChatGPT or any other AI tool is that no matter how effective they are, they are not humans, so output usually lacks human emotions. Therefore, results should be reviewed and edited. Also, these tools may not understand conceptual ideas and requests properly.

Differences between ChatGPT and Search Engines

Aside from Chatbots, another tool ChatGPT is similar to is Search engines, e.g., Google, Bing etc. However, here are some differences between ChatGPT and Search engines.

1. While search engines focus on finding information that already exists on the internet, ChatGPT interprets instructions, questions, and generally every other input and produces outputs based on this. They are also more interactive, making them more suitable for specific needs like customer service and language interpretation.
